Fore! Things

1. Davis Riley and Nick Hardy won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, meaning each player also gets credit for his first official PGA Tour win.

2. Such a victory comes with numerous perks, including FedEx Cup points for both, a spot in the PGA Championship, Sentry Tournament of Champions and Players Championship.

3. Masters champion Jon Rahm returns this week at the Mexico Open, where he is the defending champion. Tony Finau is also in the field. Rahm has elected to skip next week’s Wells Fargo Championship, a designated event.

4. LIV Golf continues its overseas trek with an event at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore. After a one-week break, LIV plays again in Tulsa, Okla., the week prior to the PGA Championship.

Fore! More Things

1. The PGA Tour announced last week that the inaugural Champions Cup will be played Dec. 7-10 at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. The event will see PGA Tour Champions players compete in nine-hole matches as part of a U.S. team, European Team and International team. Jim Furyk will captain the U.S. side, with Darren Clarke heading the European Tour and Ernie Els the International team. The event will comprise team and singles play.

2. It was a curious decision for LIV Golf to start its tournament on Friday with teammates in each of the groups—especially in light of what happened at the Masters. You can see why they wanted to do it, especially in Australia where having three Aussies in the same group—the captains played separately—was going to be popular. But after the incident at Augusta National and the controversy over "giving advice" in the first round, having teammates together in a stroke play event—where advice is not allowed—had the potential for a bad look.

3. Sihwan Kim has finished last in each of the four LIV Golf events this year, a somewhat perplexing development given that the American who attended Stanford won twice last year on the Asian Tour, one of them the International Series event in Thailand. In Australia, Kim opened with an 84 before shooting 71-75. LIV officials say he is not injured.

4. There are 24 days until the first round of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
