Caddie Tim Mickelson details brother's historic day, celebration

Phil Mickelson made history at Kiawah with the most improbable win of his career. In this episode, his caddie and younger brother Tim shares stories from the historic day.

In this new episode, Tim Mickelson details Sunday of the recent PGA Championship, as he caddied for his older brother, Phil, during perhaps the most improbable win of his career. Tim Mickelson describes the key moment off the sixth green, when he pulled his older brother aside and said, "If you want to win this tournament, you need to make committed swings." It must have taken some confidence to tell Phil Mickelson what he needed to hear in essentially the fourth quarter of a major. Tim said he felt compelled to speak up because his brother needed to change his mind-set. "The stakes were high enough," Tim said.

Everyone saw the massive crowd swarm the 18th hole on Sunday. Tim said it escalated so quickly that he almost lost his balance and tripped with the golf bag. Luckily, he found a deputy sheriff who served as a lead blocker to clear them through the masses.

Tim also describes how he had to dismiss the thought of a winning hug from his mind from the fifth hole on. It was just an excitable final round, and he almost got lost in looking ahead.

Once Mickelson's final putt dropped, Tim reveals what he said to his brother in that moment, and he also details the celebration the Mickelson brothers enjoyed on the plane ride back to San Diego.
