Louisiana High School Football Top 25 State Rankings (Oct. 7, 2026)

Edna Karr survived a slugfest with Catholic League rival Brother Martin in a neutral site game held at Southeastern Louisiana University's Strawberry Stadium. The district grind continues for Karr this week vs. John Curtis, which has lost three games and comes in hungry for a win after a one-point loss to Archbishop Rummel

Ty Williams intercepted two passes, highlighted by an 85-yard pick-six, according to Spencer Urquhart of The New Orleans Advocate. Forest Johnson threw a 28-yard TD to Brenin Reid, and Jermond Macklin ran for 141 yards on 21 carries. Quarterback Marlon Jones added 12 rushes for 60 yards.

The Bearcats had their best defensive performance of the year heading into this week's district opener against Ouachita Parish, a rematch of last year's Division I Non-Select title game won by the Lions. In his return to action after missing the past few weeks, junior running back Dalen Powell ran for 65 yards on 11 carries and two TDs with three catches for 30 yards, according to Matt Belinson of The Ruston Daily Leader.
3. St. Augustine (5-0)

The Purple Knights have scored 93 points in two district wins. This week's opponent, Holy Cross, is No. 10 in the Division I Select power ratings. St. Aug is No. 3. The top five teams are all from the Catholic League. Archbishop Rummel is No. 1.

The Raiders have allowed a total of 16 points over their last four games with two shutouts. Running back Coryan Hawkins threw a pass to quarterback Colton Nussmeier for Rummel's only TD, according to Christopher Dabe of The New Orleans Advocate. Hawkins ran for 91 yards on `26 carries.

Outside of a 42-33 win over Southside, the Tigers have allowed an average of less than seven points per game. Quarterback Noah Antoine has 16 touchdown passes with no interceptions. Laiken Hypolite rushed for 128 yards on nine carries with a TD vs. Carencro. ,

The Crusaders held an eight-point lead before falling to the Cougars at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond. Justin Morgan was 9 of 16 passing for 135 yards and a touchdown to Easton Royal, according to Spencer Urquhart of The New Orleans Advocate.

The Eagles pitched their second straight shutout and third of the season. After an imporant district game against Belle Chasse, Shaw will face Class 2A top-ranked Calvary Baptist at home. Last year, the Eagles handed Lafayette Christian its only regular season loss in another high profile matchup against a program from outside the NOLA metro area.

The Buccaneers, who are averaging 49.6 points per contest, had their highest output of the season against previously unbeaten Sulphur. The previous week, Barbe also knocked Lafayette High from the unbeaten ranks.

London Padgett threw a 10-yard TD pass to Jarvis Stevenson for the Patriots' touchdown in the loss to Rummel, which was the Patriots' third loss by 10-or-fewer points.
