Jair Jurrjens will make his first start for the Rockies Friday, according to a report from MLB.com.

Jurrjens, who was acquired from Cincinnati earlier this week, has struggled and been hampered by injuries since making the National League All Star team with Atlanta in 2011. The 28 year old made two appearances for the Orioles in 2013.

In 34 innings over six starts at Triple A this season, Jurrjens struck out 27 batters with 13 walks and posted a 4.46 ERA. Jurrjens will be the 13th different pitcher to start for Colorado this season and faces a tough matchup against the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, who will start Cy Young candidate Clayton Kershaw.
