Dodgers pitcher Josh Beckett will likely miss the rest of the season, Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly told reporters Wednesday.

Mattingly said it is "probably not very possible" Beckett pitches again this season.

The Dodgers placed Beckett on the disabled list on July 8 with a left hip impingement. He returned from the DL on July 22 and made three starts before being placed back on disabled list. Beckett's ERA in those three starts was 8.25.

The Dodgers acquired Roberto Hernandez from the Phillies shortly after Beckett returned to the DL.

Beckett, 34, pitched a no-hitter in May. He is 6-6 with a 2.88 ERA this season.
