Brewers OF Carlos Gomez to make first start since wrist injury

Carlos Gomez has rejoined the Milwaukee Brewers starting lineup for the first time since spraining his wrist on Aug. 31.

Gomez will bat leadoff Monday night as the Brewers open a four-game series against the Miami Marlins

The centerfielder was expected to miss extended time of potentially a couple of weeks, but was able to pinch hit during Sunday's game against the Cardinals and singled. 

Gomez is hitting .283 with 21 home runs and 66 RBI this season. He was named an All-Star in both 2013 and 2014.

Milwaukee has lost 11 of its last 12 games and sits half a game back from the second NL Wild Card spot.
