The Toronto Blue Jays have traded outfielder Anthony Gose to the Detroit Tigers for infield prospect Devon Travis, the Tigers announced Wednesday

Gose, 24, just completed his third season with Toronto. A former second-round draft pick, he played a career-high 94 games for the Jays in 2014, hitting .226 with two home runs, 13 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

Travis, a second baseman, was ranked as the Tigers' No. 1 prospect by Baseball America before the trade. He was planning to play in the Arizona Fall League this year but had to sit out after undergoing core muscle surgery, according to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi

Travis, 23, spent 2014 at Double A Erie, hitting .298 with 10 home runs, 52 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 100 games. The Tigers drafted him in the 13th round in 2012 out of Florida State.
