Chicago Cubs pitcher Pedro Strop is reportedly doing fine after being involved in a car accident in the Dominican Republic on Thursday.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the team says that Strop's status is encouraging and that they have no other details about if Strop was injured.

The 29-year-old Strop was acquired by Chicago in a July 2013 that sent pitcher Jake Arrieta to the Baltimore Orioles. Strop has also pitched for the Texas Rangers.

Strop went 2-4 with a 2.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, two saves and 71 strikeouts in 61 innings last season for the Cubs.
