Pitcher Erik Bedard agrees to minor league deal with Dodgers

LOS ANGELES (AP) Pitcher Erik Bedard has agreed to a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and been invited to big league training camp.

The 36-year-old left-hander was 4-6 with a 4.76 ERA in 15 starts last season for Tampa Bay, where new Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman head of baseball operations. The Rays designated Bedard for assignment in July.

Since 2009, Bedard has been bothered by shoulder problems and he missed the entire 2010 season. His best year was 2007, when he was 13-5 with Baltimore.
