Report: Cardinals, OF Jon Jay agree to two-year deal

Monday February 9th, 2015

The St. Louis Cardinals and outfielder Jon Jay have agreed to a two-year, $10.975 million deal, reports Jon Heyman of CBS.

The two sides will avoid arbitration with the deal, which includes a $1.25 million signing bonus, according to Heyman.

Jay has spent all five seasons of his career in St. Louis. The 29-year-old hit .303 with three home runs, 46 RBIs and a 3.72 on-base percentage in 2014. He played all three outfield spots last season, but primarily manned centerfield

A former second-round draft pick by the Cardinals, Jay has a career .295 average with 28 home runs and 217 RBIs.
