TAMPA, Fla. (AP) New York Yankees prospect Jose Pirela is feeling much better two days after sustaining a concussion when he crashed into the center field wall on a play that ended up an inside-the-park home run for the Mets' Juan Lagares.
Pirela met with reporters in the Yankees dugout before Tuesday night's game with Detroit and said he has no dizziness.
''The only thing I have is still a little bit of soreness in my neck and in my back, my entire back,'' Pirela said through a translator.
Pirela's momentum carried him into the wall Sunday before falling and hitting the back of his head on the on the warning track. He was taken to Tradition Medical Center, where he released that night after neck and spine MRI findings came back normal.
Pirela will have to clear concussion tests before returning.
