Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen exited Wednesday's spring training game with an apparent injury.
After hitting a grounder in the eighth inning, McCutchen appeared to stumble out of the batter's box. He did not run out the play and he slowly returned to the dugout, according to the Tribune.
Following the game, McCutchen said that he was fine and that he exited as a precaution. He told the Pittsburgh Tribune that he slipped on home plate.
McCutchen, 28, batted .314 with 25 home runs and 83 RBIs last season. He led the league in on-base percentage and OPS.
McCutchen made his fourth consecutive All-Star Game in 2014. He finished third in National League MVP voting.
The outfielder was placed on the 15-day DL for the first time in his career last season with a rib injury, though he still managed to play in 146 games.
