Orioles slugger Davis set to return Tuesday from suspension

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is set to return to the lineup after sitting out opening day because of a drug suspension.

Davis drew a 25-game penalty last year for using amphetamines without a prescription.

Davis served his final day Monday in the Orioles' regular season opener at Tampa Bay.

Baltimore will make a corresponding move before Tuesday night's game with the Rays to clear a 25-man roster spot for Davis.

The Orioles made a couple moves Monday, purchasing the contract of catcher Ryan Lavarnway and designating right-hander Ryan Webb for assignment.
