Rays place four starting pitchers on disabled list
Monday April 6th, 2015

The Tampa Bay Rays have placed four starting pitchers on the disabled list hours before their season opener against the Baltimore Orioles, the team announced.

Alex Cobb (right forearm tendinitis), left-hander Drew Smyly (left shoulder tendinitis) and right-hander Alex Colome (pneumonia) were placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 27.

Matt Moore was placed on the 60-day DL as he is still recovering from Tommy John surgery last April to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.

Closer Jake McGee (elbow surgery) and infielder Nick Franklin (left oblique strain) also went on the DL, retroactive to March 27.
