PITTSBURGH (AP) The Pittsburgh Pirates say a woman who was injured by a foul ball during Monday night's game against the Chicago Cubs has been released from the hospital.

The woman was standing behind the protective netting while getting to her seats behind home plate when a foul ball off the bat of Starlin Castro struck her in the back of the head. The game was delayed 23 minutes while she was placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. The team says she was released after being evaluated by physicians.

The team said in a statement it was ''extremely grateful for this positive outcome'' and is in the process of reaching out to the fan for further support. Her identity has not been released.
