A video of Los Angeles Angels centerfielder Mike Trout watching a montage of highlights will open the TV coverage of Monday night’s MLB draft.

Coverage of the draft will begin on MLB Network at 7 p.m. ET. The video features Trout’s 3-year-old nephew watching Trout’s old highlights and also shows Trout himself doing the same.

The defending American League MVP is off to a strong start this season. Through 57 games, Trout is batting .283 with 16 home runs, 33 RBIs and a .934 OPS.

In the latest All-Star Game voting totals released on Monday, Trout was second among AL outfielders with 3,668,577 votes, trailing only the Kansas City RoyalsLorenzo Cain at the position.

The Angels drafted Trout 25th in the 2009 MLB draft out of Millville Senior High School in Millville, N.J. Trout made his major-league debut on July 8, 2011 against the Seattle Mariners.
