Chicago Cubs rookie catcher Kyle Schwarber made his first start on Wednesday night against the Cleveland Indians, and had two RBIs in his first two at-bats.

Schwarber was the No. 4 pick in last year's draft. He was called up on Tuesday for the Cubs' two series in American League ballparks. The Cubs plan to send him to Triple A after the short major-league stint to continue his development as a catcher.

Schwarber got his first major-league hit in the Cubs' six-run second inning against pitcher Shaun Marcum. Schwarber hit a line drive down the right field line that got under the glove of Indians first baseman Carlos Santana.

Schwarber came up to bat again in the third inning and hit an RBI single.

The Cubs play in the Indians in Chicago on Thursday, and then travel to Minnesota for three games against the Twins for a three-game weekend series.

After three innings, the Cubs lead the Indians 10-0.
