NEW YORK (AP) A look at the milestone hits in Alex Rodriguez's major league career:

No. 1 - July 9, 1994: an infield single off Boston's Sergio Valdez at Fenway Park in the fourth inning of Seattle's 7-4 victory. Rodriguez finished 2 for 4 while batting ninth for the Mariners in his second big league game.

No. 100 - June 4, 1996: a single to left field in the first inning off Cleveland's Brian Anderson in Seattle's 10-7 win at Jacobs Field.

No. 500 - May 24, 1998: a single to center in the first inning off Tampa Bay's Dennis Springer in Seattle's 3-1 victory at the Kingdome.

No. 1,000 - May 5, 2001: an RBI single off Gary Glover of the Chicago White Sox in the seventh inning of Texas' 2-0 win at The Ballpark in Arlington.

No. 1,500 - Aug. 19, 2003: a triple in the first inning off Detroit's Mike Maroth in Texas' 5-4 victory at Comerica Park.

No. 2,000 - July 21, 2006: a three-run homer in the third inning off Toronto's A.J. Burnett in the New York Yankees' 7-3 loss at Rogers Centre. The hit also made the 30-year-old Rodriguez the youngest to reach 450 home runs.

No. 2,500 - Sept. 2, 2009: a single to center in the fifth inning off Baltimore's Jason Berken in the Yankees' 10-2 win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

No. 3,000 - June 19, 2015: a solo home run in the first inning off Detroit's Justin Verlander in New York's 7-2 victory at Yankee Stadium. Rodriguez became the 29th player in major league history to reach 3,000 hits, and first since Yankees great Derek Jeter homered from the very same batter's box in 2011.
