Former MLB player Darryl Hamilton was killed in an apparent murder-suicide Sunday afternoon in Texas. After the news was announced on Monday, many former MLB players, including several of Hamilton's teammates, mourned his passing on Twitter.

Police believe Hamilton, 50, was shot multiple times by his girlfriend, Monica Jordan, 44, before Jordan turned the gun on herself.

Hamilton played 13 seasons in the majors from 1988–2001 as an outfielder with the New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Colorado Rockies.

Hamilton was remembered as a kind, fun-loving man by his colleagues and the media members who covered him.
