Hanley Ramirez, Dustin Pedroia leave Red Sox game with injuries
The middle innings of Boston's game against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park on Wednesday were some painful ones for the home team, containing separate injuries to star players Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez.
Ramirez was struck by a Xander Bogaerts line-drive in the fifth inning while running from first to second base. The ball caught him on the wrist, and Ramirez was in visible pain after being ruled out.
Ramirez was diagnosed with a left hand contusion, according to the Boston Globe, and is day-to-day.

Pedroia, meanwhile, came up grabbing his right hamstring as he rounded first base after delivering a one-out single in the sixth inning that broke a 1–1 tie by scoring Mookie Betts and Sandy Leon.
After a brief injury delay, Pedroia came out of the game. He was diagnosed with right hamstring tightness, the Globe reported.
Pedroia has recently been on a hitting tear, batting .353 over his past 28 games with 42 hits.
Despite Wednesday night's 5–1 victory, the Red Sox are still just 32–41 on the season and in last place in the American League East Division.
