Todd Frazier closes gap with Matt Carpenter in NL All-Star voting

The latest National League voting update for the 2015 All-Star Game was released on Monday.

The leaders at each position remained the same since last week's update, however at third base the Cincinnati Reds' Todd Frazier has closed the gap with the St. Louis Cardinals' Matt Carpenter. After leading Frazier by 1.2 million votes last week, Carpenter's lead is now down to just 63,000 votes. 

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper continues to lead all National League players with 11,363,949 votes. The next highest vote-getter in the NL is San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, who has 7,990,423 votes.

The leaders at the remaining positions are Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon, Cardinals shortstop Jhonny Peralta, Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton and Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday. 

Voting ends on July 2, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

The starters for the All-Star Game will be announced during a selection show on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The All-Star Game will be played July 14 at the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park.
