Blue Jays SS Troy Tulowitzki ejected from ALCS Game 3 for dissent
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was ejected by home plate umpire John Hirschbeck from Game 3 of the ALCS on Monday night.
Tulowitzki, who was called out on strikes in the bottom of the seventh inning, initially exchanged words with Hirschbeck about the call, but returned to his team’s dugout without an issue.
When Tulowitzki went out to play defense in the top of the eighth inning, however, he and Hirschbeck continued their verbal exchange, which ultimately resulted in his ejection before the start of the inning.
Before being tossed, Tulowitzki was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. His home run in the bottom of the third inning put the Blue Jays ahead of the Royals 6–2.
With their 11–8 win in Game 3, the Blue Jays trail the Royals two games to one heading into Game 4 on Tuesday in Toronto.
