NEW YORK (AP) Daniel Murphy, who had 14 home runs during the regular season, has seven during the postseason to help the New York Mets reach the World Series for the first time since 2000. His total is one shy of the postseason record shared by Barry Bonds (2002), Carlos Beltran (2004) and Nelson Cruz (2011), and Murphy has set a major league record by homering in six consecutive postseason games.
