Brewers trade Luis Sardinas to Mariners for Ramon Flores

Friday November 20th, 2015

The Milwaukee Brewers have traded infielder Luis Sardinas to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for outfielder Ramon Flores, the team announced Friday.

Sardinas, 22, signed with the Texas Rangers as an amateur free agent in 2009. The Rangers promoted him to the major leagues in April of 2014, and traded him to the Brewers in January.

Sardinas has played in 79 major league games over the course of two seasons.

Flores, 23, has just 12 games of major league experience. He was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 2008, and was promoted to the major leagues in May. He was sent back to the minors in June when the Yankees activated Brendan Ryan off the disabled list. He was called back up that same month when Mason Williams was injured.

In July, the Yankees traded Flores to the Mariners, who assigned him to their Triple A affiliate.
