We’re a month and a half into the MLB off-season, and there has already been plenty of movement on the free-agent market.

Check out the latest MLB news and rumors below.

• The Oakland Athletics announced they have acquired first baseman Yonder Alonso in a trade with the San Diego Padres in exchange for four players.

• The Houston Astros declined to tender power-hitting first baseman Chris Carter, making him a free agent, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

• The Miami Marlins have non-tendered pitcher Henderson Alvarez, their Opening Day starter from this past season, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

• First baseman Pedro Alvarez is a free agent after the Pittsburgh Pirates didn’t tender a contract to him, reports Mike Axisa of CBS Sports.

• The Chicago White Sox have signed free agent catcher Dioner Navarro to a one-year deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

• The Padres have hired Mark McGwire as their bench coach.
