The Angels have placed starting pitcher Andrew Heaney on the 15-day disabled list with a left flexor muscle strain, the team announced Wednesday.

Heaney yielded four runs on seven hits over six innings in his first start of the year Tuesday, and saw a decrease in velocity. The 24-year-old bounced between the big leagues and Triple A last season, throwing 105 2/3 innings with the Angels and posting a 3.49 ERA in 18 starts.

Los Angeles has not announced a corresponding move.
