After lining a pitch to leftfield, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig made the bold decision to round first base and head for second. The throw pulled second baseman Jean Segura off the bag, giving Puig a small window to slide in safely.

Well, Puig missed that window. He slid so far to the right of the base that he couldn’t even touch it. Still not out yet, Puig reached back toward the bag, switched hands, and managed to arrive safely.

The play was reviewed, but even if Puig were out, he should have been called safe for this effort anyway.
