Former president George H.W. Bush threw out the first pitch before the Astros-Royals game on Tuesday.
Bush, the 41st president of the United States, moved to Texas in 1948, and has lived in the Lone Star state when not holding office elsewhere. Bush and his wife Barbara typically live in Houston during the winter.
Baseball, among other things, runs deep in the Bush family. George W. Bush, H.W.’s son, was a managing general partner of the Texas Rangers for much of the ‘90s.
