The Chicago White Sox turned a 9-3-2-6-2-5 triple play in the top of the seventh inning against the Texas Rangers at U.S. Cellular Field on Friday night.
It was the first triple play by the White Sox since Sept. 18, 2006 against the Detroit Tigers for their second of that season. The Rangers had the bases loaded with Mitch Moreland up when he lined out into right. Ian Desmond was then doubled off first, and Prince Fielder got caught between third and home before being tagged out.

The last time the Rangers hit into a triple play was June. 1, 1991 against the Seattle Mariners.
Chicago won the game, 5–0.
