Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon absolutely ripped a base hit during Saturday’s game against the Marlins.

During the top of the fifth inning, Colon offered at a 1–0 fastball from southpaw Justin Nicolino and hit it into leftfield to record a leadoff single. The ball left Colon’s bat at 108.4 mph, and was his second hit of the season.

Colon’s offensive escapades have been well-documented. In early May, he hit his first career home run, an event that was celebrated across the baseball world.

That home run left Colon’s bat at just 96 mph.

JAFFE: Bartolo Colon is the gift (and the GIF) that keeps on giving

This shellacking will surely make Colon’s offensive highlight reel. “A Bart Bullet,” as Mets announcer Gary Cohen perfectly put it.
