Yeah, Bartolo Colon’s batting helmet flew off again

Tuesday May 3rd, 2016

Monday night’s game against the Braves was the perfect encapsulation of why we love Bartolo Colon. He pitched really well and he did something really silly.

Colon pitched eight scoreless innings to earn his 220th career win, passing Pedro Martinez for the second most wins by a Dominican pitcher, but let’s just watch this video of him swinging his helmet right off his head for the umpteenth time

A sincere thank you to the fine folks at SNY for giving so many angles of that.

It wasn’t all bad news for Colon at the plate though. In the first inning, he laced a foul ball that left the bat at 101.9 mph.

Long live Bart.
