Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer won MVP honors at the MLB All-Star game on Tuesday.
The American League won the game 4–2, giving it a fourth straight win in the Midsummer Classic.
Hosmer, a first-time All-Star, went 2-for-3 during the game, driving in two runs. Hosmer hit a solo home run in the second inning to tie the game at one, and also drove in the AL’s fourth and final run in the third inning.

Royals hitters actually drove in all the runs for the AL, with Salvador Perez hitting a two-run shot shortly after Hosmer’s homer in the second.
Hosmer’s performance could pay off for the Royals in October, as the AL pennant winner will have home field advantage in the World Series.
In 87 games for the Royals this season, Hosmer is hitting .299 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs.
