The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to recall right fielder Yasiel Puig from Triple A Oklahoma City this week, reports Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports Puig is likely to join the Dodgers for Friday's game against the San Diego Padres.

The 25-year-old’s future with the organization has been in question recently as he has struggled to play up to his potential and continues to show immaturity on and off the field.

Los Angeles recently placed him on revocable waivers, a move that was likely made so the team could gauge trade interest for the off-season. Puig was claimed by an unnamed team and subsequently pulled off waivers.

Puig has played better since being demoted, hitting .348/.400/.594 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 69 at-bats with Oklahoma City. Earlier in the week, he said his time in the minors has taught him humility and was apologetic to manager Dave Roberts and former manager Don Mattingly.

The Dodgers (74–59) currently hold a two-game lead over the San Francisco Giants in the NL West.
