Before their game on Tuesday, the Mets plan to make another heartwarming gesture of support for the Marlins.

The Jose Fernandez No. 16 Mets jersey that hung in the New York dugout the past two days was signed by Mets players and will be presented to the Marlins.

Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, who, like Fernandez, is from Cuba, hung the jersey in the home dugout at Citi Field on Sunday, hours after Fernandez’s death. They brought the jersey to Miami for this week’s series against the Marlins.

“I didn't know him very personally, just really my time spent with him on the field,” Cespedes said Sunday. “But like I said, he was a very charismatic person and I think that we can all agree that he had so much fun when he was out there on the mound. That's probably my best memory of him.”
