MLB Playoff Picture 2019: Wild Card Standings, Current Matchups

Will your favorite team reach the postseason? Here are the current standings in the MLB playoff race.

There's less than one week left in the regular season, and the hunt for the postseason is hotter than ever.

The Nationals clinched a playoff berth on Tuesday night after defeating the Phillies 4–1 at home. They currently hold the first National League wild-card spot and are just one game ahead of the Brewers, who have the second spot.

The wild-card races remain tight, and as the end of September inches closer, who will be next to punch their ticket to the playoffs?

American League Playoff Picture:

Oakland still has the first American League wild card, while the Rays kept their hold on the second with a 12th-inning rally to beat the Yankees 2–1. The Indians remain only a half-game back from the Rays, and it looks like the AL wild-card chase will come down to the wire.

The Twins remain four games ahead of Cleveland in the American League Central division standings.

National League Playoff Picture:

The Cubs lost their seventh straight game on Tuesday night to put them on the verge of elimination. Both Chicago and the Mets sit five games behind the Brewers. New York's magic number for elimination is one, and the club avoided it on Tuesday night with an 11th-inning walk-off walk to beat the Marlins 5–4.

In the NL Central division standings, St. Louis has a slight lead (2 1/2 games) over the Brewers.
