Yankees’ Aaron Judge Leaves Game With Hip Injury

The reigning AL MVP was forced to leave Thursday’s game against the Rangers due to right hip discomfort.

Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge was forced to leave Thursday’s game against the Rangers in the bottom of the fourth inning due to what the team is calling “right hip discomfort”.

Judge, who avoided a serious shoulder injury while attempting to steal third base in Wednesday’s game against the Twins, now apparently has injured his hip.

After striking out in his first two at-bats, the Yankees captain was replaced by Oswaldo Cabrera in right field.

Manager Aaron Boone did not have any immediate word on his condition, but he stressed that the team will assess Judge’s condition over the next couple of days.

“We will reassess him tomorrow and see how he is doing,” said Boone. “I felt like I noticed it on his swing, and I was paying attention to it and wanted to get him out of there. We will see where we are at over the next couple of days.”

The Yankees beat the Rangers, 4-2, and improved to 15-11 on the season.

However, the Pinstripes can not afford to lose their best player, because Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Rodon and Luis Severino are already on the injured list.

In regard to the rash of injuries, Boone added, “Nobody is gonna wait for us, and we have to keep going.”
