Houston Astros Sluggers Set Franchise Record in Dominant Series Victory

In this story:
If the Houston Astros were angry after getting swept at home by the New York Yankees, they have taken out all that frustration on their instate division rivals that past three games.
On Wednesday night, the Astros completed a three-game sweep over the Texas Rangers by bashing Max Scherzer all over the park. Houston put on a firework show throughout the series and ended the domination by setting a franchise record in the process.
They have hit 16 home runs in during these three games, which is most in franchise history over any three game stretch.
Jose Altuve led the way, hitting five of those homers. Yordan Alvarez, Martin Maldanado, Jose Abreu and Mauricio Dubon all hit two of their own.
The Astros scored 13, 14 and 12 runs in this series, once again reminding the league of how scary their lineup can be when things are clicking.
More importantly for the outlook of the season, they still hold the first place spot in the AL West division, sitting one game clear of the Seattle Mariners and three ahead of the Rangers.
They are also coming up on the soft spot of their schedule, facing the below .500 San Diego Padres and MLB worst Oakland Athletics for six games at home before heading to face the MLB's second worst team Kansas City Royals.
This part of the schedule should allow Houston to build a comfortable lead in the division before they face the AL leading Baltimore Orioles and face off against the Mariners for one final series in the regular season.
However, with the way the Astros' offense is swinging the bat right now, it might not matter who they face because they can beat anyone they face if they continue playing like this.
