Alex Bregman's Bold Prediction About Houston Texans Star QB Doesn't Come True

In this story:
For a while, the Houston Astros were carrying the playoffs and championship hopes of the entire city as the Houston Rockets and Houston Texans began a rebuilding phase, to put it nicely.
The Astros have had one of the best postseason runs in all of MLB history, winning two World Series titles, four American League Championship Series pennants and an AL-record seven-straight ALCS appearances.
They've been the perennial playoff team in Houston.
However, the Texans gave the city something to cheer about this year, while fans waited until the Astros begin their pursuit of World Series No. 3.
They won their first AFC South divisional title since 2019 and made their first postseason appearance since that year as well.
With the Texans slated to face the AFC's No. 1 seed Baltimore Ravens after beating the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card round, plenty of people were paying attention, including Astros' star Alex Bregman.
In speaking with reporters at the facility, Houston's third baseman had quite a bold prediction for how the Texans' rookie sensation C.J. Stroud would play.

While the 22-year-old has had an incredible season, likely winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, he had never accomplished what Bregman had predicted for him, although he got close against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 470 yards and five touchdowns.
The prediction from the Astros' star ultimately fell flat as the Texans were eliminated by the Ravens 34-10 and Stroud threw for only 175 yards and zero touchdowns.
Despite the disappointment of losing, this was a very successful season for Houston.
In many ways, the Texans mirror what the Astros looked like during the early part of their incredible run, having a team full of young talent and getting the right coach in place to allow that talent to flourish.
Hopefully both Houston teams can continue making the playoffs and pursuing championships at the same time.
