Astros Focusing on Road Success Against Rangers Before Game 3

The Houston Astros have performed well on the road this season. They'll need to continue that desperately if they want to advance to their third straight World Series as they trail the Texas Rangers 2-0 in the ALCS.

The Houston Astros have talked plenty about being able to flush their bad performances and go out the next game to play better.

At this point, they'll have to rely on that mentality after finding themselves in a 2-0 hole in the ALCS, as they hit the road for three games against the Texas Rangers.

It's not a spot the Astros would have liked to be in, but it's the reality of the situation.

The good news?

Houston has been one of the best teams in baseball when playing in opposing ballparks.

They're going to use that to turn their attention to three massive games beginning on Wednesday.

"The good thing is we play a little better on the road and we played well at that stadium. We’ve got to win two out of three going over there. It’s do or die at this point, and we’ve got to play with some urgency. We have been playing with urgency, but we need to capitalize a little more," outfielder Chas McCormick said.

That is true.

The Astros have a 6-1 record when facing Texas on the road.

They've scored 63 runs in those games compared to 29 by the Rangers.

But where is the mentality after facing a daunting situation and one they haven't found themselves in often?

"Obviously, the first two games haven’t gone great. They got a heck of a ballclub over there, and you just keep playing baseball," Alex Bregman said about the task at hand.

Houston is a veteran ballclub who has performed under pressure situations during the playoffs more often than not.

They'll have to rise to the occasion once again if they want to keep their season alive.
