The Yuli Gurriel era in Houston is over. The former Houston Astros first baseman has come to an agreement with the Miami Marlins according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Details have yet to emerge on how long the deal is or how much Gurriel will be making. But a one-year deal, or even a minor league deal seems the most likely. At 38 years old Gurriel is in the twilight of his career but he still has enough in the tank to help an MLB team.

That is what the Marlins are hoping for.

Gurriel helped lead the Astros to a World Series championship over the Philadelphia Phillies in 2023 thanks to a postseason resurgence in production. Prior to the playoffs, Gurriel was experiencing a stark regression in his play at the plate slashing .242/.288/.360 during the 2022 MLB season.

After a long offseason of uncertainty for the fan favorite, he has now found a home in Miami.
