For the past few years, the Houston Astros have carried the hopes of fans in the city as teams from the two other major professional sports leagues didn't make their postseasons.

That's not the case this year.

The Houston Texans will play their first NFL playoff game since 2019 when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional round.

At 3:30 p.m. CT, they will take on the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round of the 2023-24 NFL Playoffs at NRG Stadium in Houston.

This comes after the Texans won the AFC South division following their win over the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Jan. 6, and the Jacksonville Jaguars lost on the final day of the regular season.

With this highly anticipated matchup set to take place, the Astros are wishing their fellow Houston team luck.

The Texans could be entering their "Golden Era" similarly to what the Astros had prior to the 2017 season.

Led by a rookie head coach and rookie quarterback, this young roster was able to make it to the playoffs for the first time with these two new pieces. Following a period of three years that saw them win only 11 out of 50 games, they seem set up for the future.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud also made some waves earlier this year when he said all athletes want to be baseball players. This sparked some major support for him within the baseball community.

As the Astros continue to put together successful season after successful season, it seems like they could have another Houston team joining them in making repeated playoff appearances.
