Son of Astros' Franchise Legend Promoted to Triple-A

In this story:
The Houston Astros have gotten a lot out of their minor league pipeline during their run as one of the best teams in the MLB.
Households names like Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez and others have worked their way through the Astros' minor league system.
The son of a franchise legend is trying to do the same.
Will Wagner is the son of Billy Wagner, who has the most saves in Houston's franchise history with 225 and is also a member of the club's Hall of Fame.
The young Wagner recently was promoted to the Triple-A affiliate to close out the year.
He was selected by the Astros in the 18th round of the 2021 MLB Draft. The infield prospect spent his first season in the minors with the Single-A affiliate before working his way up to Double-A in his second season.
After playing 53 games at the Double-A level this year, Houston promoted him to their Triple-A Sugar Land affiliate on Tuesday.
In his debut, Wagner went 2-4 with a double.
MLB.com has the son of the franchise legend ranked as the No. 15 prospect in their pipeline.
He's made a fast ascension through the minor leagues after hitting for a career slash line of .282/.384/.433 with 19 home runs and 101 RBI across five different teams.
Wagner's scouting report reads in part, "He quickly became an organization favorite as a steady performer with a high baseball IQ ... An average hitter with solid on-base skills but questionable power, (Will) may have the best offensive approach in the system. He has a compact left-handed swing, controls the strike zone and concentrates on making contact to all fields."
He's expected to make his MLB debut at some point during the 2024 season according to projections.
