Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider exploded on third plate umpire Paul Clemons during Tuesday night's game vs. the Philadelphia Phillies based on a call made two batters before Bryce Harper hit a grand slam.

When Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber went up to bat in the bottom of the fourth inning, he was hit by a pitch on a 2–2 count. However, it appeared to Schneider and pitcher José Berríos that Schwarber swung at the pitch. Clemons called it a no swing, allowing Schwarber to take first after being hit, which loaded the bases.

Whit Merrifield struck out in the next at-bat, but then Harper delivered by hitting a 360-foot home run to bring the Phillies four more runs and make it an 8-0 game.

Schneider was furious after Harper's grand slam as he stormed onto the field and let the umpires hear his grievances. His shouting, which was not picked up by microphones, caused him to be ejected from the game.

The Phillies ended up crushing the Blue Jays, 10–1.
