Takeaways: Atlanta picks up fourth series win in a row in dominant win over New York

The Atlanta Braves' big night at the plate was led by Marcell Ozuna after a big night from Charlie Morton.

The Atlanta Braves keep rolling with their fourth series win in a row.

The Braves picked up a 7-0 victory over the New York Mets to improve to 82-44 on the season.

The offense got going early and never stopped for the Braves and never picked up for the Mets.

Charlie Morton had a NIGHT on the mound

Morton showed up tonight.

He tossed seven scoreless innings and only allowed two hits. Additionally, he struck out 11 batters while only walking one.

Overall, Morton has been a reliable part of the Braves' rotation this season. He has a 3.54 ERA with 146 strikeouts and a 1.43 WHIP.

Marcell Ozuna. That's it.

The Braves designated hitter took care of business in this one.

Ozuna got going in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single to put the Braves on the board. He struck again with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning. He made more noise in the bottom of the seventh inning by hitting a two-run homer to left field.

Ozuna has 28 home runs and 67 RBI on the season. He has been a big part of what the Braves have been able to accomplish at the plate this season.

New York, New York has been good to the Braves this season

Whether it has been the Mets or the Yankees, the New York teams have been no match for the Braves this season.

The Braves swept the Yankees in a three-game series last week, putting the team from the Bronx below .500 this late in the season for the first time since 1995.

The New York Mets have had even worse luck with the Braves this season. The Braves are 10-3 against the Mets this season.

Fortunately for both New York teams, they will not have to see the Braves again this season.

What's next?

The Braves do not have a game tomorrow, but they will travel out to San Francisco for a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants to kick off a 10-game road trip against NL West opponents.
