Lineup, how to watch Atlanta's series opener versus the Detroit Tigers

Atlanta sends Charlie Morton to the mound in a bullpen game for the Tigers

The Atlanta Braves, 7-1 in the month of June, look to continue their winning ways on a quick three-game road trip to Detroit's Comerica Park, where they take on a reeling Tigers squad (26-37) that's 1-9 in their last ten games. It's a prime opportunity for Atlanta to build their lead in the division, where Miami has continued to win series (8-2 in their last ten games) and is now sitting just 3.5 games back of the Braves.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Monday, June 12th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Atlanta's going with the usual suspects in this one - Sean Murphy gets the start behind the dish, batting cleanup, while Eddie Rosario is in left field batting 6th and Marcell Ozuna is the DH, batting 5th.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers on Monday, June 12th

The Atlanta Braves are sending veteran Charlie Morton to the mound. "Uncle Charlie" is 5-6 with a 3.89 ERA in his twelve starts on the season, finally notching his first no-decision in his last start, a come from behind 7-5 win over the Mets. Morton's struck out seventy-seven batters in sixty nine and a third innings, walking thirty. He's allowed eight homeruns and opposing hitters are batting .264 against him. Detroit doesn't have a long or great track record against Morton, with only five current Tigers having faced him and only one, DH Miguel Cabrera, having more than one hit or an RBI off of Morton.

Detroit's going with a bullpen game and has not yet announced a starter, but the Braves have to feel confident in this one: They're 4-1 in their last five games against the Tigers, dating back to 2016, although here's a fun blast from the past: The winning pitchers in those four games? Aaron Blair, Julio Teheran, Michael Soroka, and Touki Toussaint. Funny how quickly things can change, huh?
