Marcell Ozuna a Surprise Leader for the Atlanta Braves

In Michael Harris' breakout game on Wednesday night he gave a lot of credit to an unexpected leader in the clubhouse in Marcell Ozuna.

This is not something anyone expected to be reading in 2023, but it seems like Marcell Ozuna has quietly become one of the leaders in the clubhouse.

A lot of fans have been wondering who would take on a leadership role with the losses of Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson in the last two years. Not many would have picked Ozuna with his off the field -- and on the field struggles until lately.

But in his postgame press conference with Michael Harris he gave a lot of credit to Ozuna for continuing to encourage him.

Obviously, Ozuna can relate to what Harris is going through having struggled on the field during the past two seasons and then having a disastrous start to 2023 before heating up in May.

There is no denying that the actions of Ozuna off the field the past two years haven't exemplified a role model.

But you do have to give some credit that he's continued to work on himself on and off the field and seems to be in a much better place.

He is a veteran at this point, and according to Ronald Acuna Jr. he's always offering advice and encouragement to the young guys on the team.

And you can hear from Ozuna himself about how he tries to encourage his teammates.

To answer the question of who are the leaders on this team, there are several. Charlie Morton, Travis d'Arnaud, and Ozzie Albies are certainly up there.

But we may have to add another name to that list after the remarks from Harris and Acuna on Wednesday night.
