Braves Briefing: Max Fried shines in return

Max Fried's return was worth the wait. His six innings of action against the Cubs looked like the Fried that started the season for the Atlanta Braves.
He struck out eight and only allowed three hits in his return in the 8-0 win Friday afternoon.
“It's been a long time coming,” said Fried after the game. “These guys have been playing so well. I'm just seamlessly trying to fit in and just kind of ride the momentum they have created.”
He improved to 3-1 on the season and should add some much-needed value to the Atlanta starting rotation.

We wrote it
Michael Harris Jr. continues to cook. Our Lindsay Crosby wrote about his current run in our takeaways from the win Friday.
The Braves centerfielder, who had a slow statistical start amidst multiple injuries that kept him out of the lineup, has gotten hotter than the weather this summer.
Since June 7th, that pivotal turning point for him in the New York Mets series, Harris is batting .374/.398/.638 w/ 9 HRs and more RBIs (25) than strikeouts (23) across the 46 games. Going 1-4 with an RBI and a run scored, he's flashed the leather AND the wheels - after singling to score Orlando Arcia from 2nd in the 4th inning, he then scored from 1st base on a hotshot down the right field line by Ronald Acuña Jr.
