Braves Briefing: Ronald Acuña Jr. is still leading the NL MVP race

The impressive 2023 campaign for the Atlanta Braves will result in many of their players being looked at for different awards.
Looking at the NL MVP, Ronald Acuña has the best odds of anyone and is the clear favorite according to Fanduel Sportsbook. He is listed at -250 odds.
Mookie Betts is second with +320 odds. Then it's Freddie Freeman at +650 odds. Then a fellow Brave, Matt Olson is listed at +5500.
You also can bet on Acuña vs any other player on Fanduel. They have Acuña listed at -250 and any other player listed at +185. That's a good sign for the Braves outfielder.

We wrote it
Our Lindsay Crosby wrote about the chances that Max Fried will sign an extension with Atlanta.
The first problem with trying to sign Max Fried to a long-term extension is the Braves don't really have any leverage here to get the deal done at any sort of discount.
You see, signing a long-term extension early in your career is about allocation of risk between the player and the team.
Let's use Spencer Strider as an example:
Spencer Strider signed a contract extension during his first full season in Atlanta, agreeing to a six-year, $75M deal. He signed the deal on October 10th, 2022, right after he had clicked over into one full year of service time.
How to watch the Atlanta Braves
