Atlanta's having a month.

The Braves are 17-7 in August, having outscored their opponents by 74 runs (157-83). Atlanta's 3.37 ERA in the month of August is tied with April/March for its best mark of the season, and their winning percentage of .708 is 2nd best for the team this month, behind only June's absurd .840.

The Braves hope to head to the final series of the month, at Colorado's Coors Field, with their 12th sweep of the season as they wrap up their series in San Francisco on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball tonight at 7:10 PM ET.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, August 27th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Atlanta's rotating back to Travis d'Arnaud behind the dish for the series finale, batting 7th, while Nicky Lopez continues to get the lion's share of the starts at 2nd base for an injured Ozzie Albies and bats 9th.

For game three, Atlanta's sending LHP Jared Shuster to the mound. Recalled last Tuesday after Allan Winans was sent back to AAA Gwinnett, Shuster's 4-2 with a 5.00 ERA in his nine major league starts this season. Having been in the minors since June 25th, he's coming off a really interesting stretch of starts for AAA Gwinnett: His last four starts have alternated six or more scoreless innings (7/25 against Jacksonville, 8/9 against Charlotte) with six or less innings and five runs allowed (8/1 against Indianapolis, 8/16 against Durham). He's never faced San Francisco and no one on their roster has an at-bat against him in the major leagues.

Opposing Atlanta, at least to open the game, is reliever Tristan Beck. 3-2 with a 3.34 ERA in his 28 appearances (no starts) on the season, Beck's the latest reliever to serve as an opener for a bullpen game in front of a bulk pitcher for a San Francisco rotation that has very few locked-in starters. He's appeared twice this season against Atlanta, throwing four scoreless innings in total with two hits, no walks, and five strikeouts.

We don't know who the bulk arm will be for San Francisco behind Beck except that it WON'T be top pitching prospect Kyle Harrison, who is being held back for a start at home against the Cincinnati Reds after this series.
