The Atlanta Braves start a series rematch tonight in Truist Park as they welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three game set. Arizona, who was in 1st place when Atlanta took two out of three from them in early June, currently sit at 52-42 and are in 3rd place in the NL West, 2.5 games behind the Dodgers and 2.0 games behind the surging Giants. Despite being 2-8 in their last ten games, it's still a dangerous team with quality starting pitching and dangerous outfielders, led by NL All-Star starter (and Rookie of the Year frontrunner) Corbin Carroll.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, July 18th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

It's a bit of a different lineup, with Eddie Rosario still unavailable. Sam Hilliard gets his 2nd consecutive start, batting 9th, with Michael Harris II back in the 7th spot and Orlando Arcia at 8th. Sean Murphy is the catcher, batting 5th, while Marcell Ozuna bats 6th at DH.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks

Atlanta's sending All-Star Bryce Elder to the mound. 7-2 with a 2.97 ERA, he's coming off of his worst start of the season, getting roughed up for seven runs on six hits in only 3.1 inning by Tampa Bay, partially owing to four walks and two homeruns allowed. He didn't throw in the All-Star Game, so he's working off of eight days of rest for tonight's start. Elder's never faced Arizona, and none of their hitters have an at-bat against him.

Arizona's countering with RHP Zach Davies. 1-5 with a 6.37 ERA in his eleven starts this season, Davies has struggled to limit baserunners. Allowing 58 hits and 24 walks in his 53.2 innings, he's sporting a 1.528 WHIP and consequently has give up 38 earned runs. Atlanta's not faced him this season, although several Braves are familiar with Davies - Marcell Ozuna is atting .385 against him with four RBIs, while Sam Hilliard (1-11, HR, 3 RBIs) and Kevin Pillar (1-11, HR, RBI) have both taken him deep. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud is 3-7 with 3 RBIs against Davies, so it's possible he gets the start tonight over Sean Murphy (1-3 lifetime).
